Blue Ribbon Culinary looking for entries at fair

To the Editor:

Are you a baker? Do you can fruits or vegetables? Is pie your specialty?

The Blue Ribbon Culinary Building at the Altamont Fair is looking for entries for this year’s fair that runs from Aug. 16 through Aug. 21. This year we will be having a chicken-salad competition sponsored by The Cheesecake Factory, a gluten-free bread competition sponsored by Brett’s Fried; and a cornbread competition sponsored by King Arthur.

New this year is our Saturday pie-eating contest and a country time barbecue contest for Sunday at 4 p.m. with pulled pork and homemade ice tea.

Prizes are given in each competition.

Back by popular demand is Jim Gaas from Cooperative Extension on Tuesday and Greg Giorgio with wine tasting on Wednesday.

More information is available online at Altamont Fair.com.

See you where? At the fair!
