Bethlehem Police fights graffiti
BETHLEHEM — The town has seen an increase in graffiti in recent weeks, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police Department, which reminds shops of a 2008 Albany County law that prohibits the sale of aerosol spray paint cans, broad-tipped indelible markers, or etching acid to anyone under the age of 18.
The local law states, “A person who sells or offers for sale aerosol spray paint cans, broad-tipped indelible markers or etching acids shall not place such cans, markers or acids on display, but shall display only facsimiles of such cans, markers or acids containing no paint, ink or other colored fluid.”
This offense is punishable as a misdemeanor, punishable by both a fine and jail time.
