Enter your baked and canned goods at the fair

Blue Ribbon Culinary Building is looking for entries for this year’s Altamont Fair, Aug. 14 through Aug. 19. Bring your best baked goods or canning in on Sunday, Aug. 12.

Continuing our 125th celebration, we will be having on Wednesday, Aug. 15, a Senior Day Ambrosia competition and all-day samples of Waldorf salad and clam pies, then and now.
Thursday we’ll have a chicken-wing competition sponsored by the Cheesecake Factory and, if cinnamon rolls are your specialty, Friday night you can make your best cinnamon buns in the King Arthur Contest.
On Saturday, we’ll have a kids’ muffin competition for those 12 and under and, back by popular demand, is Jim Haas on Tuesday night, Aug. 14 with making three meals out of $3 chicken.
Wednesday night, Greg Giogio will host a wine and cheese-tasting, and we conclude on Sunday with a pie-eating contest at 3:30 p.m. More information is available at Altamont Fair.com.
