Stuyvesant Plaza hosts sidewalk sale

GUILDERLAND — Stuyvesant Plaza — for the first time in partnership with WS Development — is holding a sidewalk sale next weekend.
In March, the plaza announced that WS Development will assume management, operation, and majority ownership of Stuyvesant Plaza. A privately-held retail firm founded in 1990, WS is based in Massachusetts and, according to its website, has over 100 mixed-use properties across the United States, including 20 million square feet of retail, office, and residential space.

Stuyvesant Plaza, on Route 20 in Guilderland, opened in 1959 with 18 tenants. The 240,000-square-foot plaza now has 60 shops and restaurants.

The sidewalk sale will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 26.

The annual sale dates back more than five decades and will feature numerous shopkeepers showcasing their merchandise as well as specials and promotions.

The Summer Sidewalk Sale was paused in 2020 and, due to social distancing protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic, had a delayed launch in 2021. This summer marks the 52nd edition of the event.
