To the Editor:

The Friends of the Berne Library would like to thank retiring Berne-Knox-Westerlo elementary art teacher Colleen Skiff for conducting ceramic workshops for the Bowls for Books events sponsored by the Berne Public Library.

For each of the past five years, Colleen has taught community members how to shape clay bowls and glaze them.

This year, the Bowls for Books event is on Sunday, July 10, at the Berne Town Park from 2 to 4 p.m. These unique bowls, filled with Stewart’s ice cream and sundae toppings, will be sold for $10. Proceeds will benefit Heldercon, the Berne Public Library comic convention for kids and families.
