To the Editor:

On Memorial Day, residents of the Hilltowns displayed their patriotic colors of red, white, and blue. The parade and ceremony in Knox were well attended.

The Women’s Auxiliary to the Knox Volunteer Fire Department wants to express its sincere appreciation of the support from the residents. The bake sale was a huge success. Thank you to all the bakers who contributed delicious goodies.

The 50/50 raffle was won by Reagan Champion. The rest of the donations will help the town of Knox playground.

As I recall the national anthem, there are a few words I would change: “The land of the free because of the brave.”
