Community Bank opens Guilderland branch
GUILDERLAND — Community Bank has opened a new branch, in Guilderland, at 1791 Western Ave.
The bank plans to add branches off Wolf Road in Colonie and at the Schenectady-Mohawk Commons Plaza in Niskayuna, bringing its branch count to 13 locations within the region.
“Today is an important milestone for Community Bank as we cement our presence in the Capital Region and chart our continued growth throughout the Northeast …,” Dimitar Karaivanov, president and chief executive officer of Community Bank, said in a statement. “We’re proud to make this investment, the first of several new locations in the region, and serve our new neighbors in Guilderland.”
The 2,500-square-foot branch was remodeled with a new teller pod design, a hospitality area with a self-serve coffee bar and an instant-issue printer for debit cards, and an ATM and drive-through teller station.
Kate McBain is the branch and community development manager of the Guilderland office, supported by the branch supervisor, Lauren DeMarco.
At its June 4 opening ceremony, the bank announced contributions to two local organizations:
— The bank will donate $25 for every new account or loan opened in the branch until Aug. 1 with a minimum donation of $2,500 to Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region; and
— A $5,500 sponsorship for the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce recognizing the bank as a Chamber Champion for all of its major events this year.
