Pedestrian struck on River Road in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM — Very early Monday morning, a Ravena woman, driving south on River Road, hit a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart in the middle of the southbound lane, according to a release from Bethlehem Police.

Tammy L. Hardy, 60, was the driver. The pedestrian, Ahmad Khan, 79, of Colonie, was seriously injured and taken to Albany Medical Center; Bethlehem Police reported on Tuesday that Khan is “receiving treatment and his condition is improving.”

Police responded to the accident scene at 318 River Road at 1:10 a.m. and said on Tuesday they did not know why Khan was walking there.
