Voorheesville man charged with endangering child

NEW SCOTLAND — State police arrested Michael J. Whitney, 44, of Voorheesville on May 23 for second-degree reckless endangerment and for endangering the welfare of a child.
The day before, on May 22, troopers responded to Grandview Terrace in Voorheesville to investigate an ongoing neighbor dispute, according to a May 30 release from the state police.

“The investigation discovered that on April 8, 2023, Whitney allegedly operated his vehicle in a reckless manner in the area, nearly striking a child under the age of 17,” the release said.

Whitney was arrested at his home and transported to the state police station in Guilderland for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the New Scotland Town Court on May 25, and released.
