National Grid is blindly following an old path to planetary ruin

To the Editor:

There will be a free public forum about the “Albany Loop/E37 Fracked Gas Pipeline” proposal on Wednesday, June 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the East Greenbush Library at 10 Community Way in East Greenbush. Please let us know if you are coming by contacting Becky Meier at because space is limited.

At this forum, Meier of Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline will have a PowerPoint presentation that provides many details. Jessica Azulay, executive director from the Alliance for a Green Economy, will be the guest speaker. The event is sponsored by Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline and Community Advocates for a Sustainable Environment.

National Grid wishes to build a new fracked gas pipeline dubbed “E37 Reliability and Resiliency Pipeline” which would traverse Bethlehem, East Greenbush, and North Greenbush.

National Grid has not documented this pipeline need nor has it analyzed non-pipeline alternatives to meet our 21st-Century energy demands. They are blindly following an old path to planetary ruin by using last century’s technologies.

Please attend this forum and become better educated about this environmental danger.
