River Road crash is fatal

BETHLEHEM — A head-on crash Wednesday afternoon on River Road in Glenmont killed a Hannacroix man.

George W. Carter, 60, was driving south on River Road in a 2013 Kia as Brandon C. Littljohn, 26, of Troy, was driving north in a 2020 pickup truck when they collided, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.

The Albany County coroner pronounced Carter dead at the scene, the release said; the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Littlejohn did not appear to have life-threatening injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

The Bethlehem Police Department was assisted by members of the Selkirk, Elsmere, and Slingerlands fire departments as well as by the Albany County Sheriff’s Department Paramedics, Delmar-Bethlehem EMS, and New York State Department of Transportation.
