If we stop the train horns, will past businesses return?

To the Editor:

So, slobbering train engineers viscously pulling lanyards to annoyingly toot their horns on purpose to upset village sleepers and causing businesses to locate elsewhere? [“Editorial: Railroads are blasting past human health concerns,” The Altamont Enterprise, May 21, 2025].

If we stop the train horns, will that bring back the foundry, Walter Trucks, the drugstore, Brate’s and Ricci's markets, the barber shop, Voorheesville Bank & Trust, Duffy Mott cider mill, the hardware store, etc.?
