To the Editor:

Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs extends our thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s Memorial Day parade in Berne. 

We appreciate the effort everyone put into preparations for this event:

— All the band students who practiced marching and performing their parts;

— The families from organizations that made floats;

— The groups that brought their members together to march;

— The Scouts, veterans’ groups and others who led the commemoration ceremony;

— The folks who brought antique vehicles;

— The members of neighboring fire departments that brought their equipment; and

— All the support staff who managed the logistics of setting the stage, controlling traffic, and providing safety measures.  

And we appreciate the public coming out to support this remembrance and enjoy the holiday together.
