ALTAMONT —  Lucille B. (née Shafer) Kellie, known as “Susie,” died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. She was 79.

She was the cherished wife of Robert Kellie, loving mother of Lisa, and beloved grandmother of Drew and Katie.

“Her grandchildren were her world,” her family wrote in a tribute. “They spent many hours at Grammy’s and brought her laughter and joy. She was known as Aunt Susie to her many nieces, nephews, and their children. She loved spending time with them and enjoyed watching them and their children grow up.”

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Kellie; by her daughter, Lisa Joslin, and her husband, Andrew, of Westerlo; by her grandchildren, Andrew Jr. and Kathryn Joslin; by her brother, Richard Shafer; by her sister, Paula (née Bernard) Sisson; and by her husband’s brothers, sisters, and their spouses as well as cousins, nieces and nephews, and their families.

Her parents, Raymond Shafer Sr., and Elsie (née Bradt) Shafer, died before her, as did her stepmother, Shirley; her brother, Ray “Junior”; her brother, Loren “Lornie”; and her granddaughter Juliana.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside committal service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, at High Point Cemetery, Old Stage Road in Altamont.
