Hilltown parade theme is ‘Never forget, ever honor’

To the Editor:

The 57th Hilltowns Memorial Day Parade is both a celebration and a memorial event commemorating those who have been lost during service to our country.

This year’s theme is “Never forget, ever honor” and participants will include: the Berne-Knox-Westerlo marching band, floats, military and classic vehicles, horses, and fire and emergency vehicles as well as marching groups.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. and proceeds through the village of Berne. Participants convene at the memorial garden and flagpole in front of the BKW Elementary School for the laying of a wreath, color guard ceremony, Taps, and benediction followed by awards for parade participants.

All are welcome. Visitors should note that Route 443 will be closed from 9:45 to 11 a.m. for the parade.
