Sara completes basic training for National Guard

VOORHEESVILLE — Spc. Bashant Sara from Voorheesville was formally welcomed into the Joint Force Headquarters of the New York Army National Guard during a transition ceremony held May 4 at the Leeds Armory in Catskill.

The ceremony marks the completion of the National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program, a preparatory training program that provides new recruits with training, lessons, and skills.

The New York Army National Guard welcomed 110 new soldiers to units during the spring ceremonies around the state.
