Tricia’s passion for our schools and community is evident

To the Editor:

I am writing to share my enthusiastic support for Patricia Putman for the Voorheesville Central School District School Board. As a resident of the school district, parent of children in the district, and as a teacher in the district, I feel fortunate to have a candidate of her credentials and dedication.

Tricia’s passion for our schools and community is evident in everything she does. She regularly attends school board meetings and curriculum meetings where she advocates passionately and fairly for students.

Tricia started the program “Good Eats” for our elementary students. In this program, students are presented with healthy food choices. Students are encouraged to try a new fruit or vegetable as they learn about the many benefits of eating healthy.

Tricia is on the executive board of the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation whose mission is to enhance the education, cultural, athletic, and organizational opportunities of the students and community of Voorheesville Central School District.

Her deep roots in the community extend to Indian Ladder Farms where she is the farm tour guide for class field trips, the manager of the Baby Animal Barn, and instructor of the Barn School program, “We Love Chickens.”

Lastly, Tricia is a certified public accountant with over 20 years of experience. This background would be beneficial in assisting in the annual school-budget process.

It is without a doubt that Tricia will bring vision and expertise to our schools. She is dedicated to helping all our students succeed.

Having someone like this, who has volunteered her time and effort to help our community and students join our school board during this unprecedented time in our country’s history, and with the complications that COVID-19 presents to our school district, would be of immense value to the district. Please vote for Tricia by mail-in vote by June 9.
