VILLAGE NOTES.

— In accordance with a petition signed by 38 qualified voters of this school district, the Board of Education at a meeting held Thursday evening passed a resolution calling a special school meeting for Friday, June 17. The meeting is called for the purpose of again considering the question of providing electric wiring and fixtures for the school building. The proposition to raise $400 for this purpose was defeated by a majority of five at the annual school meeting held May 3. In their communication to the Board of Education the petitioners declare “We believe that the vote taken on this question at the regular meeting did not represent the attitude and feeling of the majority of the qualified voters of this district.” The meeting to be held June 17 will demonstrate the truth or fallacy of this statement. Scores of voters who were not present at the regular meeting expressed their approval of the proposition, and would have voted for it had they been present. Let no other engagement be made for Friday evening, June 17.
