To the Editor:
The Altamont Parade Committee is pleased to announce that the annual Memorial Day parade will step off at 2 p.m. from the Grand Street gate of the fairgrounds on Sunday, May 21!

The parade will follow its normal route over Grand, Main, Lincoln, Western, and Maple to Orsini Park where it will gather to honor our fallen soldiers.

We will applaud Robi Whitehurst as grand marshal and will enjoy hot dogs and ice cream (compliments of Altamont Fire Department and Stewart’s) while listening to the music of String Theory.

So, display your flags proudly and join your neighbors to recognize the sacrifice given by our soldiers in war, and celebrate our freedoms for which they gave their lives.
