To the Editor:

The Westerlo Hometown Heroes Committee is hosting its first annual Patriot Picnic on Saturday, June 7, from noon until 3 p.m. The free event is planned to honor and show gratitude to all our veterans who have and are currently serving as well as their families.

The picnic will be held at Westerlo Veterans Memorial Park and is open to all veterans in Albany County.

A traditional American barbecue will be served, courtesy of At First Bite, along with beverages and dessert. Entertainment will be provided by Moonshine Mule.

The committee has also opened up the day to any vendors who offer veterans specific information or assistance. Vendors who also offer patriotic goods are welcome as well. There is no cost to be a vendor, but the committee does ask that you register in advance.

There will also be free raffles for all veterans in attendance.
