Woman rescued from Hudson River

BETHLEHEM — A 55-year-old woman was pulled from the Hudson River on Tuesday and taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation.

The unnamed woman was reported missing at about 9 a.m. on May 14, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police who responded to the Henry Hudson Park at 162 Lyons Road in Selkirk where officers found her car.

Several hours into the search, the New York State Police Aviation Unit located the woman in the Hudson River just north of the park. She was pulled out of the river by members of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office and taken back to shore.

She was conscious and talking when she got to shore, the release said, and was treated by Albany County Sheriff’s Office paramedics and then transported by Delmar-Bethlehem EMS to Albany Medical Center for further evaluation.

Other agencies assisting in the search included the Albany County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, the Selkirk and Coeymans fire departments, and the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation.
