I choose to be part of the solution

To the Editor:

To the parents and community members of the Voorheesville School District: It would be an honor to serve as your voice if I am elected to the school board. Voting is on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Your vote would mean a lot to me.

Win or lose, I can and will look back at this time and honestly say that I choose to be part of the solution. Speaking up for not only the youngest members in our school system but for parents as well. My hope is that I encouraged others to stand up and come forward to make their voices heard.

There are members of the Voorheesville School Board, many of whom have great institutional knowledge. As a newly elected member of the board, I feel that I can add value and that I have a unique characteristic that would bring an outside perspective to some of the issues we face.

As a small-business owner, we are often faced with challenges that require creative solutions. As a father of two young children, one who is currently enrolled in VCSD, I have a vested interest in the future of mine and our kids’ education. As the newest member of the Voorheesville Volunteer Fire Department, I will continue to serve the community in which I love to live.

As we move forward together, I believe I’m best equipped to represent different viewpoints while working collaboratively with fellow board members to find common ground. I am humbly asking for your vote on May 17 because I’m the candidate committed to hearing you, and to advocating for you.
