Police recover stolen guns, search for suspect
BETHLEHEM — Tuesday, in the early morning hours, five long guns were stolen from the Glenmont Walmart.
Bethlehem Police officers, along with members of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, searched the wooded area behind the Walmart at 311 Route 9W and found the stolen guns as well as property belonging to the suspect, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.
Bethlehem Police had responded to a burglary in progress at 1:16 a.m. on May 10.
Someone had forced entry through the garden center and used a fire extinguisher to smash open a gun case before fleeing with the guns through the sporting-goods emergency exit, the release said.
