To the Editor:
The May meeting of the Guilderland Historical Society will be held at the Guilderland Public Library on May 16 in the Helderberg Room. The meeting will begin at 2: p.m.

There will be a brief business meeting to start. Around 2:20 p.m., our featured speaker, Mark W. O’Brien, will present “The Mystery of the Blockhouse and the Secret of the Old Mill.”

Mark has been on a lifelong quest to find the location of the Veeder Blockhouse and will speak about the discoveries he has made along the way — another relatively unknown portion of Guilderland to pique your interest and imagination.

Mr. O’Brien is an accomplished artist and an amateur cartographer as well as storyteller and writer with a passion for local history.
