‘The Great American Songbook’ performed by Mendelssohn Club and Swing Docs
DELMAR — The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will perform its traditional spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, in the New York State Education Building’s historic Chancellors Hall.
“The Great American Songbook” will feature a mix of popular standards, traditional songs, and selections from Broadway musicals. A Capital Region tradition since 1909, the Mendelssohn Club is the area’s longest continuously performing arts group.
The Swing Docs, medical professionals from Albany Medical Center, will join the club for the evening.
Tickets for the concert are available in advance for $25, or $20 per ticket for groups of 10 or more. To purchase tickets in advance, contact the Mendelssohn Club’s Concert Coordinator, Marjorie Ward, at 518-783-5741, or email for more information. Walk-in tickets also may be available.
The New York State Education Building is at 89 Washington Avenue in Albany. The entrance to Chancellors Hall is near the corner of North Hawk Street and Washington Avenue. Covered parking is available one block from the State Education Building.
The Mendelssohn Club will also perform at the Albany Tulip Festival on Saturday, May 10.
