Volunteers, including Lori and Lisa Herzog, Emily Sherman, and Dan Sweezey, joined others at Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne on April 26 for spring cleaning. Other volunteers, not pictured, included Marion Burghart and members of the cemetery board: Secretary Lynn Warner Kerr, Treasurer Alex Cookhouse, Vice President JoAnne Brady, and Maintenance Supervisor Jay Becker. “Even though it was a rainy day, we accomplished our goal of raking and getting the winter debris cleaned up,” said Brady.
To the Editor:
The Woodlawn Cemetery Board of Berne would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to the volunteers who braved the rain to participate in the cleanup effort at the cemetery in observance of New York State Caring For Our Cemetery Day.
The additional support provided by these volunteers has made a significant impact. Their contributions are truly appreciated.
We would also like to remind everyone that our annual meeting will be held at the Helderberg Lutheran Church in Berne on Saturday, May 3, at 1 p.m. All lot holders and interested parties are invited.
