The response was overwhelming!

To the Editor:

Once again, the community of New Scotland and the surrounding area opened their hearts and wallets for those impacted by COVID-19 — friends and neighbors who have lost their jobs, taken a pay cut, or have suffered any other detrimental consequence of the COVID-19 virus.

The newly formed Voorheesville Community Cares/Assistance for COVID-19 group sponsored a food and personal-care drive to support the New Scotland Community Food Pantry, the Berne Food Pantry, and the Westerlo Food Pantry. The response was overwhelming! In light of the fact that this drive was put together so quickly and successfully is a testament to the values shared by many in our area.

Food drives are an enormous help throughout the year, helping to restock food-pantry shelves. The timing was perfect. Thank you once again to the Voorheesville Community Cares/Assistance for COVID-19 for your thoughtfulness and compassion and for orchestrating this wonderful community effort.
