Thompsons Lake Rural Cemetery holds annual meeting

EAST BERNE — On  Friday, May 10, the Thompsons Lake Rural Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. at the Thompsons Lake Reformed Church in East Berne. In addition to the annual budget review, the 2018 season will be recapped.

“We are an all-volunteer organization and need new members,” says a notice from the cemetery association. “If you are a deed holder and care that the cemetery is well-managed and maintained into the future, please join us to learn who we are, what we do, and how you can help. Our future depends on you!”

Donations are welcome and will cover the cost of summer mowing, repair of headstones, and maintaining of the cemetery’s roadway. Checks should be made out to Thompsons Lake Rural Cemetery and mailed to Sue Jordan, 276 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.

Cemetery plots may be purchased as follows: a whole plot with eight graves costs $3,500, a half plot with four graves costs $2,000, and a quarter plot with two graves costs $1,260.

For more information, call Don VanHoesen at 518-326-1549, Shirley Salisbury at 518-673-5711, Lora Ricketts at 518-872-1691, or Sue Jordan at 518-487-4698.
