Grange hold first Take-Out Only Dinner

To the Editor:

After properly self-distancing, as we have all been for the last 30-plus days, we are really looking forward to seeing our many friends at our first Take-Out Only Dinner. This will be something new for all of us.

The Bethlehem Grange will have a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner on Saturday, May 2. Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, we will be serving take-out only. Dinners will include a salad and dessert.

We’re asking everyone to please reserve your dinners in advance, by Friday, May 1. We’re serving from 4 to 7 p.m. To reserve your number of needed dinners, please call 518-421-1384, and speak to Carol Carpenter. If your phone does not display your name or number, please enable it to display your name or number.

At the same time, you can drop off any used clothing — men’s, ladies’, or children’s — shoes, boots, belts, purses, linens, curtains, stuffed animals, or pillowcases in our Clothing Shed, located in the southeast corner of our parking lot.

We’re also accepting the pull tabs from pet foods, soda, beer, canned fish, soups, and anything else that has the pull tabs. We are collecting the pull tabs for our community service project for the Ronald McDonald House. These may be dropped off when you pay for your dinners.

At the same time, if you have soda or beer cans, or water bottles, we will also accept these for our Bethlehem Grange Juniors. The deposit money from these cans and bottles goes toward their community service projects.

We are also accepting worn or tattered American flags in our mailbox at the front of our Grange Hall, where the small flag is located. Any worn or tattered American flags we receive are properly disposed of by the American Legion Post 37.

Thank you for all of your assistance!

Carol Carpenter
