VCSF offers scholarship

The Voorheesville School and Community Foundation is accepting applications for the Marlene Windelspecht Prentiss Scholarship to be awarded to one or more graduating seniors from Clayton A. Bouton High School.

This scholarship is offered in memory of Marlene Windelspecht Prentiss, a long-time Voorheesville resident, business owner, and Albany County legislator. “As a child in the 1940s, Marlene had difficulty reading in school and much to her dismay, her dyslexia was not identified until her late teens,” according to a release from the foundation.

Graduating seniors from the Clayton A Bouton High School Class of 2019 who plan to pursue a career in education, or plan to pursue a career that supports literacy and those with reading disabilities, are encouraged to apply. Additional information and the scholarship application may be found on Naviance.

Each scholarship award will be in the amount of $500. Completed scholarship applications are to be turned in to the high school guidance office by Thursday, May 23.
