BKW holds Springtime Parade

HILLTOWNS — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo transportation department has planned a Springtime Parade, which will travel throughout the school district on Friday, April 17.

The department is asking parents to bring their children to the closest main road near their home. Fire trucks from four Hilltown companies will be joining the decorated school buses in the parade, led by Deputy Nathaniel Bray, BKW’s school resource officer.

Some of the school-bus drivers, to keep their social distance, will be parading in their decorated personal vehicles.

The parade will step off from the transportation department headquarters on Helderberg Trail at 12:30 p.m. and then travel along the Berne-Altamont Road, Knox Cave Road (12:45 p.m.) to Quay Road, (12:50 p.m.) to Craven (12:55 p.m.) to Knox Cave Road (1:05 p.m.), to Berne-Altamont Road (1:10 p.m.), to Thompsons Lake Rd (1:20 p.m.), Ketcham Road (1:20 p.m.), to Thacher Park Road (1:30 p.m.), to Helderberg Trail (1:40 p.m.) to Route 85 (1:50 p.m.) to Route 143 (2 p.m.) to County Route 1 (2:05 p.m.) to Switzkill Road and then back to the garage (2:30 p.m.).
