Buy a bowl to help Berne library
To the Editor:
Berne Public Library supporters have been busy glazing bowls in preparation for the Bowls for Books luncheon on Saturday, April 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. These bowls are ready to be filled with the homemade soup or chili of your choice at this event.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo art teacher Colleen Skiff provided the handmade bowls, the glazes, and the expertise in creating the bowls. We will also have a drawing at the end of the luncheon for a serving bowl made by local potter Terrice Bassler.
The Bowls for Books event is sponsored by the Friends of the Berne Library and proceeds from the sale of the bowls and the drawing will be used to purchase books on the Berne-Knox-Westerlo summer-reading list and for children’s books for the Berne Library summer reading program.
Come to the luncheon in the community room of the Berne Public Library and purchase a one-of-a-kind bowl for $10, enjoy a healthy and fun lunch, and support reading!
