The ice is out and Hal Miller won

To the Editor:

Spring is finally coming, and the Kiwanis Warner Lake Ice-Out Challenge ended when the frame marking the strength of the ice fell through on April 1 (no fooling) in late afternoon.

The closest guess of April 1 at 4:11 p.m. was made by Harold Miller, who won $100.

The Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs would like to thank everyone who made a guess, or dropped change into our jars, to help raise funds for our Kiwanis Student Support Fund for Berne-Knox-Westerlo. This fund will support field-trip expenses, college application fees, and other needs of low-income students at BKW. We would also like to thank the local businesses who hosted our jars for their support.
