Public can vote on cycle stations

The Capital District Transportation Authority and the Capital district Physicians’ Health Plan say the public will help decide where CDPHP Cycle! stations will be located. Voting is underway at www.CDPHPcycle.com.

The website includes an interactive map to help with voting on desired locations for stations and making further suggestions. This feedback will be used along with information about population, city layouts, and existing bicycle infrastructure across the Capital Region to make decisions and start planning with cities.

The program will provide 160 bikes distributed among approximately 20 bike stations to be set up this summer. It will premiere in Albany, Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga.

Information sessions will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m at four locations —  Proctors in Schenectady on April 11, at Troy Innovation Garage on April 12, at the Saratoga Springs Recreation Center Branch on April 25, and at the Albany Public Library on Washington Avenue on April 26.

Participants at the sessions can meet the CDPHP Cycle staff, check out a model bike, ask questions, and learn more about the region’s first bike-sharing program.

Voting will be open through Sunday, April 30, at 11:59 p.m. Official site announcements will come in May.
