Sap Run 5K is on Saturday

To the Editor:

One day of frostbite-worthy weather didn’t stop the sap from running and it won’t stop the Helderberg Hilltowns Association’s Sap Run, either! Last Saturday’s weather was just too brutal to safely hold our annual 5K, so we rescheduled it for this coming Saturday, March 30.

Apparently Mother Nature is looking upon us with favor this time — the forecast at this writing is for a high of 64 degrees, with clouds and a 14 mile-per-hour wind. Just perfect!

All the other details are the same — start time is 10 a.m. with registration and sign-in at the Knox Town Hall, with doors opening at 9 a.m. You can register online until 5 p.m. on Friday, or at the door on race day.

Every participant gets a free T-shirt with our famous Sappy logo, and this year we’ve added more age categories so you’ve got a better chance at winning a medal. Top overall winners receive a medal and a pint of local maple syrup. Details are on our website www.saprun5K.org, or call 518-872-1390 for more information.
