Caroline P. Joslyn

WESTERLO — Caroline P. Joslyn — a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother — died on Friday, March 21, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital. She was 88.

She was born in Schenectady on Aug. 5, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Mildred McFee Gardiner.

“She resided in Westerlo for more than 50 years,” her family wrote in a tribute, “and was a member of Westerlo Reformed Church and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Company.

“Caroline was retired from the New York State Thruway Authority. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, dancing, and listening to country music.”

She is survived by three children, Barry (Linda) Joslyn of Westerlo, Becky Joslyn of Duette, Florida, and Brad (Denise) Joslyn of Feura Bush; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Charlotte Forrest of Florida; and her friend of 22 years, Robert McCann.

Her parents, John and Mildred McFee Gardiner, died before her, as did her husband, Kenneth R. Joslyn — on Dec. 29, 2000 — and one great-granddaughter.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 26, from 10 a.m. until noon at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home at 4898 State Route 81 in Greenville. The funeral will be at noon, followed by burial in Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
