Dean’s list

These local students have recently distinguished themselves:

— Thomas Straut, of Voorheesville, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, New Jersey

These local students have been named to the Morrisville State College Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester, each with an average of 3.0 to 3.99:

— Christina Grippin of Berne;

— Samuel Caso of Delmar;

—  Dana Insero of East Berne;

— Samuel Abbott of East Berne; and

— Zackary Hanlon of Slingerlands.

Saint Rose honors athletes

These local athletes who are students at The College of Saint Rose in Albany are among 205 Golden Knights named to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for outstanding academic achievement, each with a 3.0 grade-point average or higher:

— Christine Myers of Altamont, a freshman on the women’s cross-country/track and field team;

— Seana Wilmott of Bethlehem, a senior on the softball team; and

— Joseph Becker of Voorheesville, a senior on the men’s cross-country team.

The NE10 is an association of 15 NCAA diverse institutions serving student athletes across 24 NCAA Division II sports.

The 205 Saint Rose representatives account for 70 percent of the Golden Knights eligible student-athlete population. Of those honored, 17 earned a 4.0 GPA and 86 more recorded a GPA between 3.50 and 3.99.
