You can help with the Pucker Street Fair

To the Editor:

The town of Knox is excited to announce the return of the Pucker Street Fair in 2019! The fair will be on Friday, June 21, from 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, June 22, from 1 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, June 23, from 1 to 5 p.m. and will include a classic-car show, rides, games, food, a live band, fireworks, skydivers, merchants, and much more!

And of course the best part — admission and parking is free! We are looking forward to another successful year! In keeping with our close-knit, small-town ties, we are seeking merchants, contributions, and volunteers from our community.

— Merchants: The Pucker Street Fair is driven by the local community and this year we would like to continue that tradition by involving local organizations and merchants. Merchants are invited to showcase their local products and services to a large audience. Prices for all three days is $60; any two days, $45; and any one day, $25. Merchants must provide their own tent or shelter, not to exceed 12 feet by 12 feet. Large flood lights will be present during the evening hours. Any merchant interested should contact Diane Champion at 518-872-1676 or for a contract form. The deadline for payment is Monday, June 3;

— Contributions: The committee is also seeking any donations to help make this year’s fair another great success. Businesses are invited to place a full-page ($100), half-page ($50) or business-card-size ($25) ad in the Contribution Book, which will be handed out throughout the entire fair. Individual and non-advertisement contributors will also be listed in the booklet. If interested, please contact Rose Pritchard at 518-441-4726 or for a form;

— Volunteers: To ensure the success of this year’s fair, volunteers are also being sought. There will be opportunities to support your community by assisting with parking, operating games, and more. This is a great opportunity for students looking for volunteer hours. If interested, contact Dennis Barber at 518-860-7861 or and provide your name, phone number, and dates/times you are available to help.

Again, the success of the fair depends on the support from our community, so we hope you will spread the word about how to be involved. A more detailed schedule of events will be coming in the upcoming months and will be found on the town website (www.knoxny.org) and town Facebook page.
