McKownville Fire District is soliciting bid proposals from qualified contractors to provide material & labor to demo / abate the existing 6,182 SF firehouse located at 1250 Western Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12203. Form of contract will be AIA Doc A104 – 2017 “Standard Abbreviated Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor” as amended by Owner.

Project Design: Asbestos Abatement: Following 3 documents outline the scope of asbestos to be abated: 1) Intertek/PSI Environmental environmental survey dated 6/1/18. 2) An update to the hazmat survey on 8/17/24 by H2M Architects & Engineers. 3) Also included is a survey map of the bldg. interior identifying 150 mudded fittings to be abated. Building Demolition: For Reference refer to Site Existing Conditions Plan C1 & Site Demolition plan C2 dated 10/17/24 by Hershberg & Hershberg Civil Engineers. Building demolition and sitework includes the entire building, foundations/footings and site concrete/asphalt for 15 feet out from bldg. (Note: City owned sidewalks at Western Ave & Brookwood Ave. to be protected/preserved as well as sign monument, flagpole, pvc fencing and plaque). Owner will provide a 6 ft high chain link fence with windscreen & lockable double gate on Brookwood Ave. side; contractor to provide gate lock, with a spare key to be provided to Owner. Contractor also to provide portable toilets.
Bid Format: All bids must be made on the official Bid Form, in duplicate, and enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Bid Submittal for McKownville Fire District” Attn.: Mr. James White, Commissioner, along with the name of the construction firm submitting, Date & Time of Bid Opening.
Bid Submission: Bids will be opened publicly by the Fire District on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Contract Bids shall remain in effect for 45 days following the Bid Opening. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Following Contract Award Notification the Owner intends to execute the contract within two weeks. Immediately upon receipt of Notice of Award from Owner, Contractor shall begin preparing insurance certificates and other required pre-construction submittals.
Project Milestone Schedule: Anticipated start date of Monday May 5th. Project must be at Substantial Completion by Friday, May 30, 2025
Requests for Information: Questions and/or clarifications from prospective bidders prior to Bid Submission must be in writing and shall be directed to AKW Consulting, Inc.
Tax Exempt: The McKownville Fire District is a political subdivision of the State of New York pursuant to Section 174(7) of the Town Law of the State and it not subject to payment of sales tax for materials purchased and incorporated on this Project. Tax exempt letter is included in this Bid Documents package.
NYS Prevailing Wage Rates: Are in effect on this Project. Refer to the latest NYS Wage Rate schedule posted on the NYS DOL website. Certified Payroll reports will be required with Application for Payment.

Said resolution authorizes the issuance and sale of a serial bond or bonds and a bond anticipation note or notes in anticipation of the issuance and sale of said serial bonds, in an amount not to exceed $48,882.34. The proceeds from the sale of the obligations authorized in said resolution shall be used for the specific purpose of financing upgrades to the Northeast/Hilton Rd./Kensington Interconnect, including necessary site work, together with the acquisition and installation of equipment, machinery and apparatus for the foregoing purpose at an estimated maximum cost of $48,882.34. The period of probable usefulness for said purpose is forty (40) years. Project Description:
This permit authorizes disturbances to Onderdonk Lake, a Class B waterbody and Class 2 regulated freshwater
wetland (W-25), to facilitate the application of ammonium salt of imazamox for the control of Potamogeton crispus. 40 acres of the 62-acre waterbody will be treated once during the 2025 season using an application rate of 104 ounces per acre. The total amount of herbicide to be used in 2025 is 4,160 ounces. The treatment will be completed between May and June at a dosage rate of 100 ppb and sprayed to subsurface via calibrated weighted drop lines.
Each treatment must be in strict conformance with the approved plans and conditions referenced herein, and the associated Article 15 Aquatic Pesticides permit.
