EAST BERNE — Christina Anne Baker, a social worker who liked spending time with her family, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. She was 74.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Joseph Welsh Sr.

Her husband, Michael D. Baker Sr., died before her.

“Christina was a proud member of the ladies’ auxiliary for the East Berne Fire Department,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Christina was a social worker with Albany County where she retired from. She enjoyed fishing, sitting by the lake, and spending time with her family.”

She is survived by her children Joseph Welsh Jr. (Diane), Michael D. Baker Jr. (Dori), and Lisa Baker. She was the loving grandma to Abigail Welsh, Steven Whinnery, and Michael D. Baker III.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
