Celebrate Sunshine Week by learning about New York’s open government laws

To the Editor:
I am a member of the New York Coalition For Open Government and received this notice from the coalition president, Paul Wolf:

Sunshine Week is March 12 to 18, where the importance of open government is celebrated across the country.

If you are a concerned citizen, reporter, or a government official in New York state, understanding what the Open Meetings Law and Freedom of Information Law require is important.

As part of Sunshine Week, the New York Coalition For Open Government will be holding a free Zoom event, where Wolf will review the key parts of New York’s open government laws.

The event will occur on Thursday, March 16, at 11 a.m. If you are interested in attending, please register in advance through this link: bit.ly/3JaJ7OV

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
