Honors and Achievements

These local students were named to the dean’s list or received a similar honor from their college or university for the fall 2021 semester:
 

— Caleb Jacobson of Altamont, at Adelphi University in Garden City, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher;

— Halle Niner of Voorheesville at Adelphi University in Garden City, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher;

— Nina Tuxbury  of Schenectady, at  Purchase College with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher;

— Nina Tuxbury of Schenectady, at  Purchase College with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher;

— Ethan Famodu of Schenectady, at  Purchase College with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher;

— Gwendolyn Walsh of Delmar, at  Purchase College with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher; 

— Sean Gordon of Slingerlands, at  Purchase College with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher; and

— Patrick Regels of Delmar, on president’s list at Northern Vermont University with a grade-point average of 4.0.

These local students were named to their achievements from their college or university:
 

— Emma Tessarzik of Berne, as recently inducted into the Elmira College Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society; 

— Sean Nolan of Voorheesville, competed on the SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team;

— Ryan Teaney of Schenectady,competed on the SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team;

— Gracianna Serravillo of Altamont, is a member of SUNY New Paltz's State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship-winning women's basketball team;

— Kiera Wissing of Slingerlands, majoring in nursing will travel to St Marys, GA to volunteer with Cumberland Island  through James Madison University's Alternative Spring Break Program; and

— Annika Pachter of Delmar, majoring in media studies at  SUNY Oneonta, is getting first-hand experience in the growing field of social media marketing as a founding member of the college's TikTok team.

One local student Marco Antonio Lanchipa of Guilderland, earned a master of science degree in engineering management at Clarkson University.
