Altamont village election March 18
ALTAMONT — All candidates for the upcoming village election face no opposition for their seats.
On March 18, Mayor Kerry Dineen, trustees John Scally and Sandra Serafino, and Justice James Greene are unopposed on the Altamont First Party line — village elections are non-partisan — in their bids for a four-year term for their respective offices.
For Dineen, it will be her fourth term as mayor, surpassing the 12 years she spent as village trustee.
Scally, a trustee for eight years, is running for a third term, while Serafino will earn her first elected term, having been appointed to the board last year after Tresa Matulewicz stepped down.
Greene was appointed justice in March 2015 and elected to the position a year later.
The Altamont village election takes place Tuesday, March 18, from noon till 9 p.m., in the village hall community room, 115 Main Street.
