Thorpe performs for historical society

GUILDERLAND — “A Night With Tom Thorpe” will be the Guilderland Historical Society’s program at its March 16 meeting when this talented musician will be performing and talking about a selection of his favorite numbers.

He has performed throughout the Northeast and in 2012 presented a popular program on Stephen Foster for the historical society. Tom Thorpe is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose wide range of performance includes folk, country, and bluegrass. He is equally adept with banjo, guitar, and mandolin.

The public is invited to join historical society members for this free program on Thursday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Mynderse-Frederick House, 451 Route 146, Guilderland Center. In case of an inclement-weather cancellation, check the society’s website at www.guilderlandhistoricalsociety.org or call (518) 861-8581 after 4 p.m.
