AES holds annual carnival

ALTAMONT — The fifth-grade students at Altamont Elementary School are hosting a Celebrate America Carnival on Friday, March 9, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The event, an annual tradition, is a fundraiser for the fifth-grader’ end-of-the-year trip.

Celebrate America promises to be a blast for the entire family, with student-run games like American bean-bag toss, American football toss, putt-putt golf, and face-painting,” organizers say. Game tickets cost 25 cents each.

Standard carnival fare, including pizza, hot dogs, and nachos will be for sale.

One of the highlights of the event is the raffle, which this year will feature prizes such as two bicycles, Valley Cats tickets, Orchard Creek golfing, Amazon gift cards, RPI hockey tickets, Maple Ski Ridge lift tickets, Altamont Fair tickets, Dick’s Sporting Goods gift certificates, Pottery Place certificates, and more. Raffle tickets are $1 each and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

In case of snow, the carnival is postpone to Friday, March 16.
