To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Simon Litten’s candidacy for the village of Altamont trustee.  I have known Simon, and his family since the early 1980s.

Simon has exceptional professional knowledge about environmental issues and their impact on the community. He is an environmental scientist, who has work for over 30 years with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Simon has been involved in clean-up work on the Love Canal and New York Harbor. Currently, Simon works with the Hudson River Foundation.

Most important for me is who Simon is as a person. He is a thoughtful, down-to-earth, caring man. He truly enjoys meeting new people and being part of Altamont.

He has passion and commitment. He is a listener who includes those who don’t necessarily share his point of view.

He will make a wonderful trustee for all of Altamont.
