GUILDERLAND — Randall J. “Randy” Crounse, a skilled mechanic who loved to hunt and fish, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in the company of his loving family. He was 84

He was born on Jan. 30, 1942, in Albany, to the late Milton and Lillian (née DeCoursey) Crounse.

“For many years, Randy worked as a highly skilled mechanic and machine operator for the town of Guilderland,” his family wrote in a tribute, “taking on a variety of specialized jobs and responsibilities within his trade.

“In his free time, he loved to go hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing, and RV-ing across the United States.”

Randall J. Crounse is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Shirley M. Crounse; his children, Randy Crounse Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, and Sharon Barlow and her husband, Don; his grandchildren, Don C. Barlow, Ken Crounse, Kimmie Perkins, and Kayla Crounse; his several great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews

His parents, Milton and Lillian (née DeCoursey) Crounse, died before him, as did his brother, Leslie H. “Les” (Helen) Crounse.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.
