To the Editor:

I have been very disappointed in the process of how our village board of trustees has chosen to handle things like the Stewart’s rezone and the cell tower proposal. Whether you are in favor of these ideas or not, they simply don’t follow the guidelines set forth in Altamont’s comprehensive plan.

Majority public opinion against both of the Stewart’s rezone attempts in the last few years were also ignored by the vote of the trustees. The years of hard work to set the comprehensive plan in motion have, in these cases, been wasted.

This is why I would like to urge village residents to please come out and vote on March 19 and to support Simon Litten for trustee. His no-nonsense approach to items like those mentioned above, his expertise in environmental and sustainable energy practices, and his decades living in Altamont will serve us well.
