Rensselaerville man charged with sexual abuse of child

RENSSELAERVILLE — A Rensselaerville man, Travis J. Hawley, 24, was charged by State Police on Feb. 25 with first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony.

Investigators received information reporting a past sexual assault of a child on Feb. 17, according to a release from State Police.

“The investigation determined that Hawley allegedly had repeated sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 13 in Albany County over the course of approximately two years,” the release said.

Hawley was arraigned at the Colonie Town Court, where he was remanded to Albany County’s jail in lieu of $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
