Elliott House Thrift Shop to open March 18

The Elliott House Thrift Shop on Route 81 in Norton Hill will be open for the 2020 season beginning Wednesday, March 18, weather permitting; it will close if the weather is inclement.

The hours at the Thrift Shop are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday,  and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays.

The shop is located at the site of the former Powell Store, next to the United Methodist Church on Route 81 in Norton Hill.

Volunteers run the shop and all proceeds benefit the programs of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Greenville.

Donations will be accepted in the back of the store beginning on March 7. Items should be clean and in working condition.

“We would appreciate breakable items not be put in with clothing. We also cannot accept large items, as we do not have space to accommodate them in the shop; these would include TV’s, microwaves, computers or monitors,” said Kathy Kearney in an announcement.

She went on, “We are currently offering prom dresses, Easter items, our regular clothing, and small decorative household items at a very reasonable price and hope that you will come and shop … Please remember to bring your own recycle bags for packing your purchases as we will no longer be able to use the plastic bags.”
